The Raiders (4-6) turned in their worst performance of the season in last week’s debacle in Mexico when the Patriots beat them 33-8. Defensive coordinator Ken Norton Jr. paid for the loss with his job when head coach Jack Del Rio fired him and installed assistant John Pagano as the new DC.
In a strange twist, Pagano will be facing a new Broncos offensive coordinator as former Raiders OC Bill Musgrave was elevated to play-caller when Denver fired its offensive coordinator Mike McCoy after its sixth straight loss Sunday.
Pagano and the Raiders will also see a new Denver quarterback as Paxton Lynch makes his first start of the season and third of his two-year career. Musgrave and the Broncos have hinted at a streamlined offense on Sunday, which may or may not make Pagano’s job easier. One question is whether a struggling team with a new quarterback and a new offensive coordinator will help the Raiders get their first interception of the season?
The Broncos haven’t won since beating the Raiders 16-10 in Week 4, but their defense, led by sack master Von Miller, still figures to cause problems for Derek Carr and the reeling Raiders’ offense.

The Raiders (6-8) play in Philadelphia for the first time since 2005 as they try to end a two-game losing streak that virtually eliminated them from the AFC playoff chase.
Derek Carr struggled again in last week’s 20-17 loss to the Cowboys, but did throw a pair of touchdown passes to Michael Crabtree. Carr, though, will be without Pro Bowl left tackle Donald Penn, who will see his 207-game playing streak end after undergoing season-ending foot surgery.
Carr may have the services of wide receiver Amari Cooper, who missed last week’s game with a sprained ankle.
The Eagles (12-2) got a solid performance from backup quarterback Nick Foles, who threw four TD passes in last week’s 34-29 win over the New York Giants. Foles took over for Carson Wentz, who suffered a torn ACL two weeks ago.

As it stands, Oakland is trying to erase the painful memories of its Christmas Night loss to the Eagles. The Raiders’ defense showed well, but Derek Carr and the offense struggled again and lost when Carr’s interception led to a game-winning 48-yard field goal by Philly’s Jake Elliott with 22 seconds left.
To add insult, the Eagles scored a touchdown with no time remaining after a fumble, the Raiders’ fifth turnover of the game.
Carr, who threw for just 140 yards in the loss, could use a sharp performance to end the season. Not that it would be enough to save the job of Carr’s hand-picked offense coordinator, Todd Downing.
The Chargers (8-7) are looking for a season sweep of the Raiders, but more importantly, they’d like to grab a wild card berth. Los Angeles could grab a postseason spot if it wins and gets the following help: Jacksonville needs to beat Tennessee and either Miami must beat Buffalo or Baltimore beats Cincinnati.
